Venerable Khetsun Sangpo Rinpoche is one of the Learned Dzog Chen Master in Nyingma Tradition. Rinpoche Studied under many respected and learned masters from different schools of Tibetan Budhisim in Tibet. Among them he received teachings and transmissions from His Holiness the Dalai Lama, His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche, Dzog Chen Lama Thupten Rinpoche, Kharag Yongzin Rinpoche, Shuksep lochen Rinpoche, Kagyur Rinpoche, Khyentse Choskyi Lodo rinpoche, Dilgo Khentse rinpoche, Jadral rinpoche and Gulok Lama Gonpo rinpoche..

Specially, rinpoche received the transmission of both Dudjom Lingpa’s and Dudjom Drodul Lingpa’s treasure from His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche twice in Tibet and mean while the oral transmission was received from His Holiness Jadral rinpoche. Trulshig Donag lingpa’s Treasure Yangti Nagpo transmission was received from Kyabje Kharag Yongzin rinpoche.

From his early age he spent many years in retreat in different holy places of Guru Rinpoche, Yeshi Tsogyal and also in various mountain under the guidance of one of his early Dzogchen Master Lama Thupten rinpoche, who spent most of his life in different caves. And as he prophesied just before his passing, his body reduced to a foot and left many relics after his cremenation. Rinpoche sat for few Yangti Nakpo retreat ( Dark room retreat) at Pema yangtse in Sikkim.

In 1962 His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche appointed Rinpoche as his representative to Japan to introduce and Teach Tibetan Budhisim in Tokyo University where Rinpoche taught for ten years. Rinpoche also work as a researcher at the Tibetan library in Dharamsala and he published about twelve books on four different lineage of Tibetan Budhisim; an ancient History of Tibet and a Tantric Practice on Nyingmapa...

In 1974 at the behest of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche, he founded the Nyingmapa Wishfulfilling Center for Study and Practice, to preserve and promote the precious and profound Religion and Tradition. which is first Dudjom Tersar Institute in Nyingma Tradition out side of Tibet. Many qualified students from this Institute have established monasteries and Centers in India, Nepal and abroad. While some are Khenpos and Teachers in different centers. Rinpoche also gives teachings, Meditation instructions and Transmissions to many foreign students here at the Institute and also in different Centers in America, Europe and Japan. He is also a visiting Professor in Virginia University, Indiana University and in Rice University in United State.

And Rinpoche is one of the few remaining lineage holder of Trulshik Donag lingpa’s treasure Yangti Nagpo, (drak retreat) of this time.
